La RaZa Beats Blast, 7-6, Sunday in Monterrey

The Monterrey La RaZa defeated the Baltimore Blast, 7-6, Sunday night at the Arena Monterrey.  Denison Cabral led the Blast with two first-half goals but La RaZa's Genoni Martinez scored the game-winning three-pointer midway through the fourth quarter for the Monterrey win.  The Blast will travel to Milwaukee on the 23rd before returning to 1st Mariner Arena to host the Wave on the 30th.

Carbal scored his first goal at 9:15 of the first quarter and knocked in his second goal at 11:26 of the second quarter.

In less than 20 seconds, in the sixth minute of the third quarter, La RaZa scored two goals to tie the game at 4-4.  Hector Vallejo scored Monterrey's first goal and Mark Ughy scored again, just 15 seconds later.

Martinez scored the game-winning three-point goal at 8:37 of the final quarter and the Blast cut the lead to 7-6 at 13:28 on a Giuliano Celenza sixth-attacker goal.

The Blast played Sunday without Machel Millwood and Scott Buete who stayed in Baltimore with injuries.  With a 5-4 record on the season, the Blast are now tied with the Rockford Rampage (5-4) for first place in the MISL.
