The Blast beat the Comets, 13-12, Saturday

The Blast improved to 3-0 with a 13-12 win over the Missouri Comets (1-4) Saturday night at 1st Mariner Arena.  Former player Doug Neely was inducted into the Baltimore Blast Hall of Fame at halftime.

Forward Adauto Neto, who missed the first two games of the season after undergoing knee surgery, scored the first goal of the game in his 2010-11 Blast debut.  Neto's goal gave the Blast a 2-0 lead just two minutes into the match but Vahid Assadpour scored a three-point goal in the fifth minute to put the Comets on top, 3-2.  Machel Millwood scored a penalty kick goal to give the Blast a 4-3 lead but the Comets scored two more goals to jump out to an 8-4 lead to end the first quarter.  Geison Moura scored to make it 5-4 and Byron Alvarez followed with the Comets' second three-point goal of the game.

After almost two scoreless quarters of play, Tiguinho extended Missouri's lead to 10-4 but Max Ferdinand scored a three-point goal for the Blast that cut the Comets lead to 10-7.

The fourth quarter was all Blast, beginning with a Giuliano Celenza goal in the second minute to put the Blast within one point at 10-9.  Pat Healey scored next, giving the Blast their first lead since the 4:48 mark of the first quarter.  Neto's second goal of the game made it 13-10 before Tiguinho scored his second goal of the night to make the final score 13-12.
