Blast Beat Comets, 10-8 in Overtime

In their first of two weekend road games, the Blast beat the Missouri Comets, 10-8 in overtime Friday night.  Rookie J.T. Noone scored the game winner after almost nine minutes of extra time.

In a very different game than last week's season opener, the Blast scored three early goals to jump out to a 6-2 lead over the Comets after one quarter of play.  Newly signed Ptah Myers scored in the third minute to give the Blast an early 2-0 lead and the Comets tied it up at 2-2 on a Leo Gibson goal in the 11th minute.  Mike Lookingland and Max Ferdinand scored one minute apart late in the quarter to extend Baltimore's lead to 6-2.

The Comets opened the second quarter with a goal from Vahid Assadpour but Baltimore's Matt Watson scored in the ninth minute to put the Blast back up by four, 8-4.

After a scoreless third quarter, the Comets took control of the game, scoring two fourth-quarter goals to tie the game and force overtime.  Geison Moura scored a power-play goal at 4:53 and Byron Alvarez scored the game-tying goal at 7:56.

Noone's first goal of the season came at just the right moment, and gives the Blast a 1-1 record heading into Saturday night's game in Wichita against the Wings.  Saturday night's game will be available via audio stream at
