Baltimore Blasts Lancers 26-9

The Blast defeated the Rochester Lancers, 26-9, Saturday afternoon in the first of two Thanksgiving weekend games.  Eight players scored in the game including Adauto Neto, who recorded a hat trick, and rookies Mike Deasel and J.T. Noone.  The Blast will play again Saturday afternoon at 4 in Syracuse.

Neto and Machel Millwood led the way in the first quarter with two goals each to give the Blast an early 12-3 lead.  Max Ferdinand also contributed a first-quarter goal and newly signed Shaun David scored his first goal just 1:37 into his first game with the Blast and went on to add two first-quarter assists.

Matt Watson and Pat Healey scored in the second quarter to keep the Blast on top, 16-5.

The teams traded goals in the third quarter with Carlos Garcia scoring first to make it 18-5.  After a Lancers goal, rookie Mike Deasel scored to extend the Blast lead to 20-7 but Rochester scored the last goal of the quarter to make it 20-9.

Rookie J.T. Noone, the hero in Baltimore's November 18th overtime win over the Comets, scored his second goal of the season to put the Blast on top, 22-9.  David scored his second goal in the 12th minute of the fourth quarter and Neto completed his hat trick with two minutes to go to claim the 26-9 victory.

The Blast will play in Syracuse tomorrow at 4, with hopes of avenging the opening-night loss to the Silver Knights.  Saturday's game will be available live via webcast at www.MISLlivesoccer.com.
