The Blast fell to 0-3 at home and 5-3 overall after giving up a 9-4 third-quarter lead to the visiting Syracuse Silver Knights who leave 1st Mariner Arena with a 12-9 victory Saturday night.  Defender Jeff  Hughes scored the game-winning three-point goal to break a 9-9 tie and improve the Silver Knights' record to 4-5.

Daniel Stevens and Alex Megson scored first-quarter goals for the Silver Knights before Blast defender Mike Lookingland scored to trim Syracuse's lead to 4-2.

Early in the second quarter Machel Millwood forced his way through the midfield to score a three-point goal and give the Blast their first lead of the night, 5-4.

The Blast jumped out to the 9-4 third-quarter lead on goals from rookie J.T. Noone and leading-scorer Max Ferdinand before the Silver Knights rallied in the last minute of the quarter to tie the game at 9-9.  Stevens scored his second goal of the night to cut the Blast lead to 9-6 and a deflection off a Blast player gave the Silver Knights the three-point goal that tied the game with 21 seconds left in the third quarter.
