Blast forward Machel Millwood was named MISL Player of the Week after recording 11 points over the weekend to lead the Blast to wins over the Missouri Comets and Norfolk SharX. In Friday's 17-9 home win over the Comets, Millwood scored one goal and added an assist for three points and two days later in Norfolk he recorded a hat trick and also contributed an assist for a game-high eight points. His first two goals Sunday tied the game at 2-2 then gave the Blast their first lead of the afternoon, 5-2.
Millwood leads the Blast and is tied to rank fourth in the MISL with 30 points; he is also tied to lead the MISL with three three-point goals (a career high). Millwood ranks seventh on Baltimore's all-time scoring list with 345 points over eight seasons.
The Blast, who have a 2.5 game hold on first place in the Eastern Division, improved to 7-3 overall, remained perfect on the road (6-0) and earned their first home win of the season (1-3).
