Blast Improve to 15-4 with 20-9 Win over Lances

On a snowy night in Baltimore, the Blast defeated the Rochester Lancers, 20-9, to improve to 15-4 on the season and increase their undefeated streak at home to 9 games this season.  Four players scored two goals in the victory, including Lucio Gonzaga who added two assists for six points on the night.

The Blast got off to a slow start, allowing Rochester's leading scorer Doug Miller to score twice in the first eight minutes to give the Lancers and early 5-2 lead. Miller scored a three-pointer at 2:21 and another goal at 7:24, while Neto scored Baltimore's first goal at 5:31. Gonzaga scored late in the first quarter to cut the Lancers lead to 5-4.

Neto's second goal of the night gave the Blast their first lead of the game, 6-5, and Adriano Dos Santos scored less than a minute later to extend Baltimore's lead to 8-5. Evan McNeley, a new addition to Rochester's roster, scored the last goal of the first half to cut the Blast lead to 8-7.

The Blast controlled the second half, scoring four unanswered goals in the first eight minutes of the third quarter.  Rookie Tino Nunez scored two of those goals, and Gonzaga and Machel Millwood added goals to increase the Blast lead to 16-7 before Kyle Manscuk ended the Blast's four-goal run at 9:28 of the quarter.

Tony Donatelli and Adrian Dos Santos scored the last two goals of the game to seal the 20-9 victory.

The Blast will return to 1st Mariner Arena Saturday night to host the third-place Missouri Comets.
