FOUR BLAST PLAYERS RECEIVE MISL TEAM RECOGNITION

William Vanzela is named Player of the Week

Baltimore: The Major Indoor Soccer League announced on Tuesday that Baltimore Blast goalkeeper William Vanzela has been named the MISL Player of the Week for the fifth week of the 2013-14 regular season. Vanzela recorded the second shutout of the MISL season as the Blast defeated the Rochester Lancers 12-0 on Friday night. This is the second time in his career that Vanzela was named MISL Player of the week; his first was on November 20th, 2012 in his Rookie Season.

Vanzela, who last season earned the MISL Championship Series MVP award, recorded nine saves in the shutout, lowering his points-against average for the season to 6.62, which leads the league. Vanzela is the first for the Blast to have a shutout since Sagu earned a one against Rockford on February 21, 2010.

Joining Vanzela on the Team of the Week is his teammate Freddy Moojen, who had a pair of goals in the Blast’s victory against the Lancers. Pat Healey and Tony Donatelli also received Honorable Mention accolades for their game performance as well.
