Blast Beat La RaZa, 8-5, Friday at 1st Mariner

The first-place Baltimore Blast defeated the Monterrey La RaZa, 8-5, Friday night.  The Baltimore Blast sit atop the NISL standings with a 7-1 record and will be back at 1st Mariner Arena Saturday, January 31st to host the Philadelphia KiXX.  Denison Cabral led the Blast to victory with two goals and one assist.

After a scoreless first quarter, Cabral scored a penalty kick and Carlos Garcia added a power-play goal four minutes later to put the Blast on top, 4-0.  Marco Vega scored a three-pointer at the 10-minute mark to cut Baltimore's lead to 4-3.

Scott Buete scored his third goal of the season to extend the Blast lead to 6-3 and then Cabral scored a shootout goal to make it 8-3. 

Genoni Martinez scored midway through the fourth quarter to make the final score 8-5.

Millwood (ankle), Jonathan Greenfield (hamstring) and Adrian Bumbut (hamstring) did not play Friday night due to injuries.
