By the Numbers:

Baltimore Blast: 4-2 after last week’s game against the Roar

Pennsylvania Roar: 0-7 after last week’s loss against the Blast

Max Ferdinand is currently third in the league in total points with 22.  Lucas Roque, Marco Mangione, Tony Donatelli and Freddy Moojen are also all in the top 25 in points this year.  Roque is 11th and Mangione is 13th with 14 and 13 points respectively.  Donatelli and Moojen are tied for 22nd with 11 points each.  Lucas Roque leads the Blast in assists with 6 and ranks 5th in the league in that category.  Mike Lookingland, Pat Healey and Stephen DeRoux also are among the league leaders in assists.  Lookingland has 5 assists (7th in league) while Healey and DeRoux each have 4(11th in league).  Mike Lookingland also ranks 2nd in the league with 11 blocks while Pat Healey is 6th in the league with 8 blocks.  William Vanzella leads the league with a 5.28 points against average in the goal.


12/21 Roar Game Recap:

Goalie, William Vanzela recorded the second Blast home shutout this season. After defeating the Roar the night before the offense continued to roll as they beat the Roar 29-0. William Vanzela led the defense in goal along with Mike Lookingland who contributed with a 3 point goal and 3 assists as well. In a night of many goals Blast forward Max Ferdinand scored 4 times after his hat trick the night before and was named MISL player of the week.


Gaining Ground:

After two wins last week the Blast look to continue making their way up the standings. The Blast now have 4 wins on the season and leaves them only 1 game back of first place.


The Competition:

The Pennsylvania Roar, comes into the contest looking to get their first win of the season. After a 0-7 start the Roar look to goalkeeper Peter Pappas who is second in the league in saves to shut down the Blast offense. Offensively Corey Maret, Jerjer Gibson, and former Blast member Ptah Meyers will look for a way to score on the Blast defense and goalie, William Vanzela. This will be the third consecutive matchup between the Blast and Roar. The Roar is coached by Eric Puls and Todd Hoffard.
