BLAST SHUTS OUT ROAR FOR THE SECOND TIME

The Baltimore Blast traveled back to Reading PA on New Years Eve to play the Roar for the third time this season.  Shutting out the Roar for the second time in a row, the Blast now heads into the New Year with a 5-2 record.

In the first quarter the Blast led the Roar 7-0. J.T. Noone had gotten on the board first, six minutes into the quarter off an assist from Levi Houapeu. Less than five minutes later, Mike Lookingland scored his second 3-point goal of the season with no assist. With 2:55 left on the clock, Levi Houapeau scored his first goal of the season and third point of the quarter.

The Blast continued to play well in the second quarter as Diego Zuniga scored the lone goal of the quarter at 2:55 off an assist from Adauto Neto. The Blast led 9-0 at halftime.

Baltimore had remained in control in the third quarter and scored three goals.  Lucio Gonzaga scored first at 7:45 into the quarter. Less than ten seconds later, Zuniga scored a 3-point goal and his second goal of the night. With 3:43 left in the quarter, Lucas Roque scored off an assist from Troy Hernandez and had brought the Blast to a 16-0 lead.

Less than three minutes into the fourth quarter, Tony Donatelli had gotten on the board  quickly off an assist from Adriano Dos Santos.  Dos Santos would help the Blast continue their lead when he scored with 4:32 left on the clock off an assist from Lucas Roque.  Minutes later Lucio Gonzaga had scored his second goal of the night off an assist from Adriano Dos Santos.  With 15 seconds left in the game, Levi Houapeu had gotten his second goal of the night with no assist.

Offensively the Blast had played a great game and three different players scored two goals a piece (Houapeau, Gonzaga, and Zuniga). Defense was just as strong and shut out the Roar for the second consecutive time. Troy Hernandez recorded his first shut out of the season with six saves and added an assist.  The Blast won their third straight game against the Roar, 24-0.
