Adrian Bumbut, Baltimore Blast
Baltimore Blast rookie Adrian Bumbut led the Blast to a record-setting 37-5 victory over the Massachusetts Twisters on February 14 at the Eastern States Coliseum. Bumbut, a former member of Romania's Under-16 National Team, recorded five goals and one assist for 12 points in the game. He scored back-to-back goals in the first five minutes of the game, including a three-pointer in the second minute, to give the Blast an early 5-0 lead. He scored another goal midway through the second quarter to give the Blast a 16-5 lead and complete his first-half hat trick. Bumbut added two goals in the third quarter, giving the Blast 22-5 and 24-5 leads and then assisted Matt Tirschman’s fourth-quarter goal to put the Blast on top, 33-5. Bumbut’s 12 points and five goals set an individual team high for the season and the team’s 37 points marks the most points the Blast has ever scored in a single game.
About the National Indoor Soccer League
The National Indoor Soccer League was launched in September of 2008 and consists of five founding members; the Baltimore Blast, La RaZa de Monterrey, Philadelphia KiXX, Rockford Rampage and the Massachusetts Twisters.
