William Vanzela and Pat Healey named to MASL Team of the Week

The Major Arena Soccer League announced on Wednesday that Baltimore Blast goalkeeper William Vanzela and defender Pat Healey have been named to the MASL Team of the Week for the third time each.

The Blast hosted the Syracuse Silver Knights last weekend and held them to just two goals. After setting an indoor soccer record for goals against average last year, the Blast have been even stingier this year led by last year’s MISL goalkeeper of the year William Vanzela and the current Blast captain Pat Healey. Vanzela is the last guard in Baltimore’s defense and very little gets by him. The last goalkeeper has lowered his GAA to a surreal 2.44. Healey is the Blast captain, leader, and no stranger to the MASL Team of the Week. Healey had a goal and an assist in Baltimore’s win over Syracuse and a game high four blocks and leads the MASL with 29 blocks.

Vanzela, Healey, and the Blast look to continue their strong defensive play this weekend when the Blast hit the road for back to back games in Milwaukee, Friday January 16th and in Detroit, Saturday January 17th
