BLAST ANNOUNCE SIGNING OF 3 PLAYERS

Blast re-sign Forbess and Houpeau, add Eli Galbraith-Knapp

Baltimore, MD- Baltimore Blast President and General Manager, Kevin Healey, announced today that team has signed defender Karou Forbess, forward Levi Houpeau, and defender Eli Galbraith-Knapp. The Baltimore Blast will be playing in the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) this season after finishing 18-2 last year and advancing to the league championship series.

Karou Forbess is coming off his first season with the Blast in which he played in 6 games recording 1 goal and 1 assist before being moved to the injured reserve. Levi Houpeau enters his third season with the Blast. Last year he recorded 13 points with 6 goals and 7 assists as well as a goal and 2 assists during the playoffs.

Eli Galbraith-Knapp played outdoor this summer for the Tulsa roughnecks in the USL. In 16 games played he recorded 1 goal and 1 assist as a defender. He was a member of the San Diego Sockers Reserve team last season and spent time with the US Arena National Team. Galbraith-Knapp played collegiately at the University of San Diego where he started 74 out of 77 career games, the 6th most starts in school history.

Blast head coach, Danny Kelly, said "I believe all three of these players are going to be pivotal in terms of helping us be successful this coming season.  Kaoru's season was cut short due to injury right as he was gaining confidence and starting to find some rhythm in his game.  We're going to be a better team with his ball handling skills coming out of the back. Levi's continually gotten better in all facets of his game. His strength, speed, and quickness coupled with his versatility make him an invaluable player for us. Eli is a quality young player that I think is going to fit in very well with the team.  He's a technically sound defender who's familiar with the indoor game, and already has some professional outdoor experience as well.  I think he's a player who can have an immediate impact for us."

Also, Blast goalkeeper Phil Saunders who won all 4 games he started last season, is injured and will be out indefinitely after off season wrist surgery.
