BLAST ANNOUNCE SIGNING OF TAYOU AND KIM
Injured Melo Out 3-4 Games
Baltimore, MD- Baltimore Blast President and General Manager, Kevin Healey, announced today that the team has signed defender Uzi Tayou and midfielder Jinho Kim. The Baltimore Blast will be playing in the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) this season after finishing 18-2 last year and advancing to the league championship series.
Uzi Tayou has played the past two seasons for the Las Vegas Legends. The Cameroon native played in 29 games recording 9 goals 11 assists and 26 blocks in his time with the Legends. Uzi played collegiately at West Virginia University.
Jinho Kim is a midfielder from Busan, South Korea. He last played for the Ventura County Fusion Soccer Club of the PDL. He is a creative midfielder who is strong on the ball. This will be his first season of indoor soccer.
Blast head coach, Danny Kelly, said "We feel we've added two very solid players to the team in Uzi Tayou and Jinho Kim. Uzi is a strong, physical defender who can handle the opposing teams target forwards, and likes to get forward and contribute in the offensive end as well. We expect him to have an immediate impact. Kim is a skillful midfielder who has immediately impressed us with his ability to pick up the game and with his overall skill set. I believe he will become a key player for us this season."
Also, Blast midfielder Jonatas Melo underwent surgery in September for a sports hernia. He is expected to miss the first 3-4 games of the season.
The Blast season begins next Saturday, November 7th against the Chicago Mustangs with a 7:35p.m. kickoff from the Royal Farms Arena.
