The Missouri Comets defeated the Blast, 18-9, Friday night to hand the Blast their second straight loss. Ricardinho led the Eastern-Division-leading Blast with two goals.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Blast and Comets combined to score six goals in less than four minutes in the second quarter. Ricardinho started the scoring frenzy at 5:59 and Mike Deasel scored a three-point goal less than 30 seconds later to give the Blast a 5-0 lead. Baltimore's lead was short-lived, however, as the Comets went on a four-goal run in a span of 1:20 to take a 9-5 lead into the halftime break. Vahid Assadpour scored two goals in the Comets' scoring spree and newly signed Bato Radoncic and Missouri's Neto each added one.
With Baltimore's Carlos Garcia serving a too-many-men-on-the-field penalty, Lucas Rodriguez scored a three-point power play goal in the seventh minute of the second half to extend Missouri's lead to 12-5. Ricardinho knocked in his second goal of the night and Pat Healey added a goal to cut the Comets lead to 12-9 after three quarters of play.
Byron Alvarez and Rodriguez scored power play goals in the fourth quarter and Geison Moura scored against Baltimore's sixth attacker with less than a minute to play to give the Comets their third straight victory and their first-ever home win over the Blast.
