Blast Beats Twisters, 27-2, to improve to 3-0

The Baltimore Blast defeated the Massachusetts Twisters, 27-2, Friday night at 1st Mariner Arena.  Led by Robbie Aristodemo's eight points, the Blast improved to 3-0 on the season and held the Twisters scoreless for 58 minutes and 14 seconds.

The Blast got off to an early 6-0 lead on goals from Matt Watson, PJ Wakefield and Machel Millwood in the first four minutes of the game.  Millwood ended the quarter with two goals as did Matt Tirschman.

The second half featured two Blast power plays and one Twisters power play but just one goal, scored by Giuliano Celenza to put the Blast on top, 14-0.

The Blast offense combined for five more goals in the third quarter, including a three-point short-handed goal from Aristodemo, to jump out to a 25-0 lead heading into the final quarter of play.  In addition to Aristodemo, Celenza scored his second goal of the night and rookie Pat Healey scored the first goal of his professional indoor career.   Scott Buete and Carlos Garcia also contributed goals in the quarter and Dave Kern replaced Sagu in the nets.

Garcia added another goal in the sixth minute of the fourth quarter to make it 27-0.  With less than two minutes remaining in the match, Kern was called for an intentional handball and sent to the penalty box.  With Sagu back on the field, Kyle Texaria scored a shootout goal to end the Blast's shutout.

Denison Cabral, Baltimore's all-time leading scorer, did not play Friday tonight due to illness and Millwood left in the first game due to a groin injury.

The Blast will return to 1st Mariner Arena on Saturday, December 20th to host the Philadelphia KiXX.  Tickets for all Blast games are on sale now and are available at the 1st Mariner Arena Box Office and at all TicketMaster outlets including TicketMaster phonecharge at 410-547-SEAT. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets cost $30, $22, $19 and $16. For additional information on Blast tickets, call the Blast at 410-73-BLAST.
