In the last game of the 2011-12 MISL regular season, the Blast needed an overtime goal from Max Ferdinand for the 15-13 win. Adriano Dos Santos led the way with two goals, to give Baltimore an 18-6 record for the season heading into postseason play.
Dos Santos, who also scored two goals in Friday's 18-12 win over the Wichita Wings, knocked in the first goal of today's game, just nine seconds into play to give the Blast an early 2-0 lead. The Blast gave up the next two goals, to JD Gruenewald and Enrique Tovar, before Shaun David tied the game and Dos Santos scored again to recapture the lead at 6-4.
Ricardinho scored just 49 seconds into the second quarter to extend Baltimore's lead to 8-4 before Nelson Santana scored in the 10th minute to cut the Blast lead to 8-6 heading into the halftime break.
Andriy Budnyy scored a three-point goal midway through the third quarter to give the Silver Knights a 9-8 lead, their first lead since the first quarter, and Stephen DeRoux cut the Knights' lead to 11-10 with less than four minutes remaining in the quarter.
Rookie Mike Deasel scored a three-point goal at the six-minute mark of the final quarter to put the Blast back on top but Syracuse's Richard Shaw scored in the 11th minute to tie the game at 13-13 and force overtime.
The Blast is back in action Saturday, March 10 to host the Rochester Lancers in Game One of the Eastern Division Finals.
