BLAST FALLS SHORT TO WAVE
The Blast lost 12-10 on Saturday night in the Milwaukee Wave’s Home Opener. The Blast now has a 1-2 Record.
After only 16 seconds into the first half, the Blast gets on the board quickly with an unassisted goal from Stephen DeRoux. Four minutes later, the Blast got their second goal of the night from Max Ferdinand with the assist by Freddy Moojen. The Blast was ahead 4-0 with just 4 minutes into the first quarter. The Wave’s, Carlos Munoz got the team’s first goal off an assist from Luan Oliveira near the end of the first quarter at 9:23.
Lucio Gonzaga assisted Tony Donatelli for the Blast’s 3rd goal of the night at 13:12 minutes into the second half. Donatelli’s goal would be the only goal scored in the 2nd quarter by any team. At the end of the first half, the Blast led the Wave 6-2.
Six minutes into the third quarter, Aduato Neto scores off an assist from Max Ferdinand putting the Blast ahead 8-2. Less than five minutes later, Ferdinand would score his second goal of the night unassisted. Carlos Munoz then had a 3-point goal, his second goal of the night, with two minutes remaining in the third quarter. At the end of the quarter, the Blast remains in the lead with a 10-5 score.
Two minutes into the fourth quarter, Giuliana Oliviero scores off a penalty shot reducing the Blast lead to three points. Shortly after Oliviero’s goal, Judson McKinney would score a 3-point goal tying up the score 10-10 with less than 10 minutes remaining in the game. The final goal was scored with 20 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter by Carlos Munoz. His goal would give the Wave the lead and the win in their Home Opener.
William Vanzela also recorded 15 saves.
