Ricardinho, Philadelphia KiXX
Ricardinho led all scorers with 11 points in Philadelphia’s 25-6 victory versus the Massachusetts Twisters on February 7. The native of Sao Paulo, Brazil connected on a three-point goal, three two-point scores and a pair of assists in the contest to mark his highest single-game output in a KiXX uniform. His fourth goal of the evening marked the 50th goal of his six-year career and with his performance, Ricardinho is now tied for third among all National Indoor Soccer League (NISL) scorers with 35 points and ranks second with 14 assists. The 29-year-old midfielder needs one more point to tie his highest season total of 36 which he recorded during his rookie campaign of 2003-04 with the Dallas Sidekicks.
About the National Indoor Soccer League
The National Indoor Soccer League was launched in September of 2008 and consists of five founding members; the Baltimore Blast, La RaZa de Monterrey, Philadelphia KiXX, Rockford Rampage and the Massachusetts Twisters. The NISL has a working relationship with the United Soccer Leagues (USL) recently received provisional membership in the United States Soccer Federation (USSF).
The NISL kicked off its inaugural season on November 15th and will continue through March with the playoffs taking place the first two weeks of April. The 2009 NISL Championship Series will consist of three of the five NISL clubs competing in two rounds, the Semifinal Round (first weekend of April) and the Championship Series Final (second week of April). The first-place team will get an automatic bye to host the Championship Game and the second- and third-place teams will play a home-and-home series with the winner advancing to the Finals.
