LANCE JOHNSON TO BE INDUCTED INTO

BALTIMORE BLAST HALL OF FAME

Baltimore, MD – The Baltimore Blast announced today that former player Lance Johnson will be inducted into the Baltimore Blast Hall of Fame.  To date, Kenny Cooper, Stan Stamenkovic, Mike Stankovic, Bruce Savage, Tim Wittman, Joey Fink, Dave MacWilliams, Heinz Wirtz, Keith Van Eron, Dominic Mobilio, Billy Ronson, Richard Chinapoo, Pat Ercoli, Cris Vaccaro, Doug Neely, Danny Counce, Rusty Troy, Earl Foreman, Tarik Walker, and Denison Cabral have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. Lance Johnson will be honored in a ceremony during halftime of the first Blast playoff game at a date to be determined.

Johnson is ranked 13th on the all time scoring list with 285 points. He has recorded 105 goals and 68 assists in 372 games while serving as a team captain from 1996 until his retirement at the end of the 2002-03 season. He was captain of the 2002-03 championship team.  Johnson is still the teams all time leader in games played with 372 and is the all time leader in blocked shots.

Johnson said, “I’m very excited to be inducted to be in the hall of fame. I live in Baltimore; I’m a season ticket holder and still go to the games to support the team.  I worked hard during practice and games to help the team be successful and it’s an honor to be recognized. Thank you to my teammates, the Blast organization, Kevin Healey, Ed Hale, Blast fans and current Hall of Fame Members.”

Baltimore Blast owner Ed Hale said “Lance was an exemplary player, leader, and captain of our team when we won our championship in 2003. Equally important is that Lance is a loan officer at 1st Marnier Bank and has developed into a top rated banker. Lance has distinguished himself in both of his careers. I congratulate him and welcome him to the Blast Hall of Fame.”
