Blast Defeat Silver Knights 6-0

BLAST DEFEAT SILVER KNIGHTS 6-0

The Blast hosted the Syracuse Silver Knights in a MASL Eastern Division matchup on Saturday night. On William Vanzela T-Shirt night in Baltimore the Blast goalkeeper did not disappoint, the Blast were able to defeat the Silver Knights 6-0 behind a Vanzela shutout.


The game got off to a fast start for the Blast with 4 goals scored in the first quarter. Adriano Dos Santos recorded the first Blast goal of the game at the 2:26 mark off an assist from Pat Healey. Andrew Hoxie scored his second goal of the season at the 7:50 mark assisted by Juan Pereira. In the final minutes of the quarter the Blast were able to capitalize with two more goals, the first scored by Vini Dantas and the second by Lucas Roque that was assisted by Pat Healey for his second of the quarter. At the end of the first the Blast led 4-0.

 

The second quarter was controlled by defense with no goals recorded. William Vanzela recorded 2 saves in the first half while blocks were recorded by Levi Hopeau, Pat Healey, Adriano Dos Santos, and Uzi Tayou. At the half the Blast led 4-0.

 

In the second half the Blast were able to extend their lead. At the 8:14 mark Vini Dantas recorded his second goal of the game assisted by Onua Obasi. The Blast defense held the Silver Knights to only 7 shots and shut down a Syracuse power play opportunity. The Blast entered the final quarter leading 5-0.

 

Lucas Roque scored his second goal of the game at the 4:21 mark of the fourth quarter assisted by Uzi Tayou to push the Blast lead to 6. The Blast defense continued to play strong holding the Silver Knights scoreless for the remainder of the game. William Vanzela recorded 6 saves for his first shutout of the season and the 7th of his career. The final score was Blast 6 Silver Knights 0.

 

The Blast move to 2-0 on the season. Vini Dantas and Lucas Roque led the offense with 2 goals each while Pat Healey recorded 2 assists. Goalkeeper, William Vanzela, recorded 6 saves and his 7th career shutout. The Blast will return home next Saturday, November 21st, to take on the Waza Flo at 7:35p.m. from the Royal Farms Arena.
