The native of Ft. Wayne, Indiana registered a game-high seven points in Rockford’s critical 16-2 win over Philadelphia on Sunday. Beasley posted a hat-trick of two-point goals and added one assist; his second goal was the game-winning goal. Beasley, a six-year veteran of professional indoor soccer, has 16 total points on the season (six goals and four assists). With three regular season games remaining, the Rampage are 8-8 and battling with the Philadelphia KiXX and Monterrey La RaZa for the remaining two playoff spots.
About the National Indoor Soccer League
The National Indoor Soccer League was launched in September of 2008 and consists of five founding members; the Baltimore Blast, La RaZa de Monterrey, Philadelphia KiXX, Rockford Rampage and the Massachusetts Twisters. The NISL has formed a working relationship with the United Soccer Leagues (USL) and recently received provisional membership in the United States Soccer Federation (USSF).
The NISL kicked off its inaugural season on November 15th and will continue through March with the playoffs taking place the first two weeks of April. The 2009 NISL Championship Series will consist of three of the five NISL clubs competing in two rounds, the Semifinal Round (first weekend of April) and the Championship Series Final (second week of April). The Baltimore Blast claimed the regular season title and earned an automatic bye to host the Championship Game at 1st Mariner Arena on Saturday, April 11. The second- and third-place teams will play a home-and-home series during the first week of April with the winner advancing to the Finals against the Blast.
