Setting the Tone:

 

Baltimore Blast: 14-3 after defeating the Harrisburg Heat 5-0 on Sunday.  First place in the Eastern Division and have clinched number one seed in division.

 

Friday, February 26

St. Louis Ambush: 5-13 after defeating Cedar Rapids 7-4 last week. Fourth place in the Central Division.

 

Previous Matchup: The Blast defeated the Ambush 6-1.

 

Saturday, February 27

Missouri Comets: 16-3 after defeating Syracuse 8-4 last week. First place in the Central Division and have clinched number one seed in division.

 

Previous Matchup: The Blast are 0-2 against the Comets this season.

Defense Wins Championships:

This season the Blast have allowed only 48 goals while scoring 116 for the second best goal differential in the MASL. William Vanzela leads the league GAA with a 2.76 average and save percentage with a .802%.  

 

2014-15 MASL Defender of the Year, First Team All MASL, and Team Captain Pat Healey anchors the defense which leads the league in goals against this season. Healey and others, like  MASL All Rookie Team selection Onua Obasi, and veteran defender Adriano Dos Santos, continue to carry the long tradition of stout Baltimore defense.

 

Team Play:

While Tony Donatelli leads the Blast in points with 31, which is 18th best in the league, the Blast are far from being one dimensional. The Blast have 10 players who have recorded 10 points or more this season including veteran leaders Tony Donatelli, Lucas Roque, and Pat Healey.  

 

 

The Competition- St. Louis Ambush:

This Ambush leading points scorer is Odaine Sinclair who has recorded 24 points off 11 goals and 13 assists this season. Lucas Almedia leads the Ambush in goals with 12 and has also contributed 9 assists. Defender Chris Mattingly leads the MASL in blocked shots with 43 in front of goalkeepers Piotr Sliwa and Marcelo Moreira who have split time in net on the season. The Ambush are coached by Tony Glavin.

 

The Competition- Missouri Comets:

Vahid Assadpour is third in the MASL this season with 48 points this season. He has recorded 22 goals and 26 assists. The high powered Comets offense which has recorded 148 goals on the season is

rounded out by Leo Gibson (20 goals) , Lucas Rodriguez (19 goals), Max Touloute (18 goals), and Romone Palmer (17 goals). The Comets are coached by Vlatko Andonovski.    

 

Upcoming Game:

PLAYOFF DATES TBA- The Blast will face the winner of the Syracuse Silver Knights vs. Waza Flo series.
