Blast Announce Five Players Signings

 BLAST ANNOUNCE FIVE PLAYERS SIGNINGS

Caltabiano re-signs with team

 

 

Baltimore, MD- Baltimore Blast President and General Manager, Kevin Healey, announced today that team has re-signed midfielder Geaton Caltabiano and signed four additional players. Travis Pittman, Jamie Thomas, Josh Hughes, and Julian Escobar have agreed to Blast contracts. The Baltimore Blast season kicks off Saturday, November 5th when the Blast travel to Harrisburg to take on the Heat.  

 

Geaton Caltabiano appeared in 14 games for the Blast last season. The UMBC alum will be entering his second season with the Blast.

 

In 2015-16 Travis Pittman appeared in 3 games for the Missouri Comets. Prior to Missouri, Pittman was a member of the Wichita B-52’s where in 2014-15 he appeared in all 20 games recording 35 points on 15 goals and 20 assists. Pittman is from Manassas, Virginia and has experience playing for U.S. National youth teams. Pittman was also a four year member of the University of West Virginia soccer team.

 

Jamie Thomas and Josh Hughes are defenders coming off a season with the Harrisburg City Islanders of the United Soccer League. Thomas appeared in 27 games for the Islanders last season and played four years of college soccer at St. Johns. Hughes appeared in 20 games for the Islanders last season. Collegiately, Hughes played at Barry University where he was a two time NSCAA All-Region selection.

 

Julian Escobar is a midfielder from New York. He most recently played for Leros in the Long Island Soccer Football League. He also played for the New York Ecuador Futsal Club before coming to Baltimore to try out for the Blast.

 

Blast head coach, Danny Kelly, said “Geaton is going into his second season with us. He is doing well in training camp and we are expecting him to have much more of an impact for us this season. I think we have signed some good young soccer players. They all have good qualities relative to each of them individually. I think they will make an impact soon rather than later for us this season”.
