NISL ANNOUNCES 2008-09 All-Rookie Team

The National Indoor Soccer League (NISL) announced  the six members of its 2008-09 NISL All-Rookie Team, following a formal voting process that polled members of the media, as well as NISL coaches and general managers.  Included in the All-Rookie team are two members of the first-place Baltimore Blast, two Monterrey La RaZa players, one player from the Rockford Rampage and one player from the Philadelphia KiXX.  Voters were asked to select three forwards/midfielders, two defenders and one goalkeeper for this team.

The 14-4 Baltimore Blast placed midfielder Pat Healey and forward Adrian Bumbut on the All-Rookie Team, as the Blast clinched the regular season title and a bye into the Championship Game.  Monterrey, who lost to Rockford in the Semifinals, have goalkeeper Steve Reese and midfielder Joel Busti on the All-Rookie Team.  Rockford, who will play the Blast Saturday night in the 2009 NISL Championship Game, placed defender Roberto Gallo on the All-Rookie Team, while the Philadelphia KiXX are represented by defender Kevin Coleman.
