The Baltimore Blast will play their 2009-10 home opener on Friday, November 13 at 1st Mariner Arena. The November 13 home opener is scheduled for a 7:35 p.m. kick off and will feature a celebration of the team’s 2009 NISL Championship and a free post-game concert by Kutless and Chasen. The complete 2009-10 schedule, along with Baltimore’s opening-night opponent, will be released later this month.
The Blast will play all their home games at 1st Mariner Arena this season, with the playoffs set to begin in late March. The 2009-10 season marks the 30th season of professional indoor soccer in Baltimore, making Baltimore the only city in the United States to boast 30 consecutive years of professional soccer. The Blast will compete this season against the Philadelphia KiXX, Monterrey La RaZa and Rockford Rampage and will renew their rivalry against the Milwaukee Wave who are back in the League after spending the 2008-09 season in the now-defunct XSL.
Keeping with the Baltimore Blast tradition of affordable family entertainment, fans will be treated to various promotional items throughout the season including T-shirts, soccer balls and bobble heads. The team will host a variety of theme nights including Boy and Girl Scout night and two post-game Christian concerts. In addition, the Blast will induct at least one additional player into the Blast Hall of Fame later in the season. The first of two post-game Christian concerts will be November 13 when Kutless and Chasen take the stage after the Blast game. The Blast game ticket includes admission to the post-game concerts.
