Wave Beats Blast, 11-9, Saturday Night

01/09/2010 8:36 AM -
The Baltimore Blast dropped to 5-3 on the season after losing, 11-9, to the Milwaukee Wave Saturday.  Kyt Selaidopoulos knocked in the game-winning goal at 12:31 of the fourth quarter to move the Wave into first place in the MISL.  The Wave has now beat the Blast twice in the last 10 days.

Lucio Gonzaga led the Blast with two goals on the night, his first goal coming midway through the first quarter to give the Blast a 2-0 lead.  The lead was short-lived as Giuliano Oliviero tied the game at 2-2 in the 13th minute.

Neither team scored in the second quarter and the third quarter was similar to the first, with Carlos Garcia putting the Blast back on top, 4-2, and Marco Terminesi tying the game at 4-4.

Gonzaga scored his second goal of the night, early in the fourth quarter, to make it 7-4 and Jonathan Greenfield scored in the third minute to extend Baltimore's lead to 9-4.  The Wave took over from that point with Terminesi scoring his second goal of the match, a three-pointer, to cut the Blast lead to 9-7.  Selaidopoulos tied the game at 9-9 with less than four minutes remaining and notched the game-winner two minutes later.
