Without the services of Lucio Gonzaga, Mike Lookingland, Warren Ukah, Adauto Neto and Sagu, the Blast lost a 14-12 decision to the Chicago Riot Sunday night. Riot goalkeeper Ante Cop scored the game-winning three-point goal with 23 seconds left in the game. The Blast falls to 6-3 on the season, a full game out of first place.
Adrian Bumbut and Matt Watson scored the first two goal of the game to give the Blast an early 4-0. The Riot went on to score three unanswered goals to take a 6-4 lead before Blast defender Pat Morris scored a restart goal to tie the game at 6-6 just before the halftime intermission. Alex Megson, Eric Lukin and Bato Radoncic scored in a nine-minute span in the second quarter to give the Riot their first lead of the game.
The Blast regained control in the third quarter, as Worteh Sampson and Max Ferdinand scored to give Baltimore a 10-6 lead but Radoncic scored his second goal of the night with 19 seconds left in the quarter to make it 10-8 heading into the final quarter.
Pat Healey (two assists in the first half) added to his points total with a goal midway through the fourth quarter but the Riot scored back-to-back three-point goals to end the game and earn their second victory of the season.
Gonzaga, Lookingland and Ukah missed the game while serving MISL suspensions following last weekend's on-field altercation in Milwaukee. Neto and Sagu missed the game due to injuries.
