MISL Announces Suspensions Following On-Field Altercation

Blast and Wave Players to Miss Upcoming Games

The Major Indoor Soccer League announced today that multiple players from the tied-for-first place Baltimore Blast and Milwaukee Wave have been suspended for upcoming games following the on-field altercation that took place between the teams on January 9.  Baltimore’s Lucio Gonzaga was ejected from the game and, after further review of the incident, the MISL has announced six additional suspensions.

"I am disappointed by the conduct of some of our players in this situation,” said MISL Commissioner David Grimaldi.  “The Blast and Wave have a great rivalry which has existed for years and on occasion the intense emotions during play get the better of our players.  We have fantastic players and coaches that are committed to being good role models and this event provides us with an opportunity to re-focus our efforts in a positive direction."

Suspensions:
Baltimore: Mike Lookingland, third person in the fight, one-game suspension (January 16 at Chicago Riot)
Baltimore: Lucio Gonzaga, first person off the bench, one-game suspension (January 16 at Chicago Riot) and kicking player which resulted in the red card, one-game suspension (January 21 vs. Milwaukee Wave)
Baltimore: Warren Ukah, stomping on player, one-game suspension (January 16 at Chicago Riot)

Milwaukee: Troy Dusosky, violent conduct (root cause), one-game suspension (January 14 vs. Omaha Vipers)
Milwaukee: Evan McNeley, third person in fight, one-game suspension (January 14 vs. Omaha Vipers)
Milwaukee: Hewerton Moreira, first person off the bench, one-game suspension (January 14 vs. Omaha Vipers)
