New Designs Connect the Past and Future of Professional Indoor Soccer

The Major Indoor Soccer League unveiled a new logo that brings together the past, present and future of the MISL.  The new logo can be seen on the league website as well as on all member club websites and social media outlets.  The upcoming 2010-11 MISL season will begin on November 12 and will feature five teams competing in 50 regular season games for three postseason berths.

“The MISL is and has always been the world leader in professional indoor soccer, with a long and well-established history and tradition,” said MISL Commissioner David Grimaldi. “Our new logo is a reflection of that history and the traditional use of the vibrant red and blue colorations and player profile.  Now is the time to return to our roots, as we position ourselves for the future.”

The MISL’s new primary logo pays tribute to the history of professional indoor soccer in the United States and focuses attention on the MISL name as a professional sports brand.  The logo is a partial throwback to the original MISL which began play in the 1978-79 season and remains the world leader in professional indoor soccer.  The primary colors remain the same, red and blue, and the logo features a dynamic, fast-moving soccer player dribbling between the letters MISL.  As the MISL brand continues to grow, the logo evolves with a stronger, cleaner design to match the league's expansion ideals.
As part of the new identity launch, the MISL also introduced three additional new emblems – a secondary logo, a wordmark identity and an Internet identity.

• The secondary logo features the same colors, wording and silhouette of a soccer player but is void of background colors.
• The wordmark contains the same silhouette splitting the words Major Indoor Soccer League.
• The final new identity, created for the MISL website,, is the secondary logo incorporated into the URL.
