BLAST ANNOUNCE PLAYER SIGNING
Blast sign forward Edwin Cubillo
Baltimore, MD- Baltimore Blast President and General Manager, Kevin Healey, announced today the signing of defender Edwin Cubillo. The Baltimore Blast who play in the newly formed Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) have started the season 13-0.
Edwin Cubillo is a 27 year old defender from Costa Rica who is considered to be one of the top futsal players in the country. Cubillo is the team captain of Borussia, national champions of the Premier League of Coasta Rica. He is also a member of the Costa Rican National Fustal team. He led the team with 4 goals in 3 games during the 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup. Head coach Danny Kelly said “Edwin is a talented, attacking left footed defender who we think will be a great addition to the team. He's been a teammate of Diego Zuniga's with the Costa Rican National futsal team, which is how we came to be familiar with him. Once he gets familiar with our game, we feel he has the potential to play an important role with the Blast in terms of helping us compete for a championship."
To make room on the active roster Karous Forbess has been moved to the injured reserve list with a broken bone in his foot.
The Baltimore Blast season continues next weekend in Las Vegas and San Diego. Kickoffs are at 10:00p.m.
