BLAST ANNOUNCE SIGNING OF 2 LOCAL PLAYERS AND GOALKEEPER
Blast sign Geaton Caltabiano, Jereme Raley, and Jeremy Figler
Baltimore, MD- Baltimore Blast President and General Manager, Kevin Healey, announced today that the team has signed three new players. The new Blast players are midfielder Geaton Caltabiano from UMBC, defender Jereme Raley from University of Maryland, and goalkeeper Jeremy Figler from St. Bonaventure University. The Baltimore Blast are 1-0 in this season in the MASL.
Midfielder Geaton Caltabiano is a local player from Lothian, Maryland. In 2013, Caltabiano led UMBC and the America East Conference in assists (8) while adding 4 goals to finish third on the team and fifth in the conference in scoring. He was one of 5 players to start all 20 games.
Defender Jereme Raley is another local product from St. Inigoes, Maryland. Raley was a member of the 2013 NCAA runner up University of Maryland team. In 2014, Raley started in all 21 games for the Terps helping them record 9 shutouts on the season. Jereme also added 1 goal and adding 5 assists that season. Raley most recently completed an outdoor season with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL.
Goalkeeper Jeremy Figler is from Grand Island, New York. In 2013 Jeremy started all 19 games for St. Bonaventure. He had an 80 saves on the season and recorded 3 shutouts. Figler recently played outdoor in Sweden for Sävsjö FF.
Head coach, Danny Kelly, said “Jeremy Figler has picked up the indoor game pretty quickly and has had a solid preseason for us in goal. He will continue to get better working with William on a daily basis. Geaton Caltabiano is a crafty midfielder type who has been steadily improving and picking up the game. We're confident he will continue to develop and push our starters for playing time as a rookie. Jeremy Raley has shown good qualities as a defender. He has good technical skills and some pace as well. Jeremy is another good young player who will push our starters for minutes.”
