Blast Defeat Heat 5-1

BLAST DEFEAT HEAT 5-1

The Blast hosted the Harrisburg Heat on Friday night in an Eastern Division matchup. In the second game of the season between the two teams the Blast were again victorious. The Blast defeated the Heat 5-1 to remain undefeated. 

The Blast got on the board first when leading scorer, Vini Dantas, recorded a goal in his 7th consecutive game. This was the only goal scored in the opening quarter. 

The Heat would come out in the second quarter and tie the game at the 2:07 mark with a goal from Keith Fultz. Despite controlling the ball for the majority of the half the Blast were unable to find the back of the net and went into the half tied 1-1. 

The Blast came out aggressive in the second half. Andrew Hoxie scored a goal at the 4:32 mark to give the Blast the lead. That lead would be extended when Vini Dantas scored his second goal of the game off an assist from goalkeeper William Vanzela . The Blast defense and goalkeeper played solid the entire quarter. They did not allow a goal and were able to shut down a Heat power play. The Blast entered the final quarter leading 3-1. 

The Blast defense continued to play solid the entire fourth quarter to protect their lead. At the 7:14 mark Tony Donatelli fired a shot into the back of the net off an assist from Lucas Roque. With a minute to go Vini Dantas completed the hat trick with his third goal of the game and his 12th goal of the season to seal the Blast victory. The final score was Blast 5 Heat 1.

 The Blast move to 7-0 on the season. The Blast were lead offensively by Vini Dantas who recorded a hat trick on the night. Adriano Dos Santos recorded 3 of the teams 9 blocks and goalkeeper William Vanzela recorded 7 saves in the victory. The Blast will travel to Harrisburg for a New Years Eve matchup against the heat. Thursday, December 31st, with a 5:05p.m. kickoff from the Farm Show Arena.
