Setting the Tone:


Baltimore Blast: 11-1 after losing to the Syracuse Silver Knights 3-2 last week.  First place in the Eastern Division.  


Jan 30 (*St. Louis plays Chicago on Friday night which will alter stats and standings*)

St. Louis Ambush: 2-10, lost previous game against the Syracuse Silver Knights 3-2. Eight games back in the Central Division.


Jan 31

Missouri Comets: 11-3, lost previous game against the Chicago Mustangs 10-3. Tied for first place in the Central Division.

Defense Wins Championships:

This season the Blast have allowed only 31 goals while scoring 83 for the best goal differential in the MASL. William Vanzela leads the league GAA with a 2.58 average and save percentage with a .815%.  


2014-15 MASL Defender of the Year, First Team All MASL, and Team Captain Pat Healey anchors the defense which is ranked one of the best in the league again this season. Healey and others, like MASL All Rookie Team selection Onua Obasi, and veteran defender Adriano Dos Santos, continue to carry the long tradition of stout Baltimore defense.


Team Play:

While Vini Dantas leads the Blast in points with 30, which is 9th best in the league, the Blast are far from being one dimensional. The Blast have 8 players who have recorded 10 points or more this season including veteran leaders Tony Donatelli, Lucas Roque, and Pat Healey.  


The Competition- St. Louis Ambush:

The Ambush are led offensively by Odaine Sinclair who has recorded 15 points off of 5 goals and 10 assists. Andre Hyane leads the Ambush in goals with 8 on the season. Defensively, Chris Mattingly leads the MASL in blocks with 37 while goalkeepers Marcelo Moreira and Piotr Sliwa have split time in net this season. The Ambush are coached by Doryl Doran.  




The Competition- Missouri Comets:

This highly anticipated matchup features one of the league’s best offenses against one of the league’s best defenses.  Vahid Assadpour leads the MASL and the Comets this season with 42 points through 14 games. He has recorded 17 goals and 25 assists. The high powered Comets offense which has recorded 115 goals on the season is rounded out by Ramone Palmer (16 goals), Leo Gibson (15 goals), Lucas Rodriguez (15 goals), and Max Touloute (13 goals). The Comets are coached by Vlatko Andonovski.
