Blast forward Machel Millwood has been named MISL Player of the Week after leading the Blast to a 17-13 victory over the visiting Milwaukee Wave Saturday night. With the Wave leading 4-0 late in the first quarter, Millwood scored his first goal to cut the Wave lead to 4-2 and inspire Baltimore's offense to tie the game and fight for the victory. Millwood went on to score back-to-back goals in less than four minutes in the third quarter to give the Blast their first lead of the game, 6-4, and then increase the lead to 8-4. The Blast led from that point on en route to their 15th win of the season.
Millwood, who was also named MISL Player of the Week on December 20, has two hat tricks this season and leads the Blast and ranks fourth in the MISL with 63 points.
The Blast, 15-6 on the season, have just three regular-season games remaining, including a Sunday-afternoon match in Norfolk against the SharX. The Blast will return to 1st Mariner Arena on Friday, March 2 and again on Saturday, March 10 for the first game of the Eastern Division Finals.
