This summer, 5 Blast players will be stretching their legs and playing for a number of teams in the MISL off-season. Troy Hernandez, JT Noone, and Tony Donatelli will be playing for teams in the United Soccer League (USL) while, Chris Williams and Stephen DeRoux will be playing for North American Soccer League (NASL) teams. Both Noone and Donatelli will be playing for the VSI Tampa Bay FC and Hernandez will be playing with the Wilmington Hammerheads for another season. Williams and DeRoux will be playing for the San Antonio Scorpions.
So far this season the VSI Tampa Bay FC team has totaled a number of 4 wins and 3 losses. Tony Donatelli has appeared in 7 games and seen 473 minutes of playing time. Donatelli has 1 goal and 1 assist. His lone goal aided the VSI Tampa Bay FC to take down the Antigua Barracuda’s 3-1 on May 3rd. He also had one assist to Sean Reynolds in an eventual 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Blues on April 21st. His fellow Blast player, JT Noone has also appeared in 7 games and has played every minute.
Troy Hernandez is the backup goalkeeper for the Wilmington Hammerheads. The Wilmington Hammerheads currently possess a record of 1 win and 3 losses. This year Troy looks to improve upon his last season with the Hammerheads, in which he shined during the post-season. Troy has yet to make an appearance this season.
In the NASL, the San Antonio Scorpions have a record of 0 wins, 2 losses, and 2 ties. Both Williams and DeRoux have had two game appearances. Williams has 170 minutes of play time under his belt this season, while DeRoux has 180. Both Williams and DeRoux play defense.
It’s still early in the season but everyone should expect great things from these 5 Blast players.
