Blast blank Lancers 11-0

Rochester, NY(December 28, 2019)-The Blast renewed their rivalry with the Rochester Lancers Saturday night and dominated for 60 minutes, leaving the Soccer Dome with an 11-0 victory Saturday night.


Mo N’diaye led the team with 5 points, Juan Pereira had a hat trick while Tony Donatelli and Vini Dantas each scored twice to pace the Blast as they ended a 3 game losing streak. Goalkeeper William Vanzela finished with 8 saves and a shutout for Baltimore.


The Blast and Lancers battled for the first 7 minutes of the first quarter before Andrew Hoxie, a former Lancer, put the Blast on the board with the assist from Adriano Dos Santos to give the Blast a 1-0 lead. After the Hoxie goal, N’diaye found the back of the net off a pass from Mike Deasel.


The Blast added their next 2 goals in an 18 second span as Juan Pereira and Jamie Thomas scored and Vini Dantas followed off a pass from Jonatas Melo to give the Blast a commanding 5-0 lead after one quarter of play.


Dantas again scored, this time off a restart to give the Blast a 6-0 lead. N’diaye added to his assist total in the third quarter, finding Pereira and Sam Guernsey to put the Blast up 8-0. Tony Donatelli scored twice in the fourth quarter and Pereira finished his hat trick to give the Blast all they needed. Rochester goalie Brian Wilkin finished the night with 24 saves.


The Blast travel to Utica Sunday to take on Utica City FC. Kickoff is set for 2pm. Baltimore returns home next Saturday January 4 as they welcome the Florida Tropics. Game time is 6:05pm.
